I went to the gym last night for the first time in oh... a month or so. July and August have been horrible for exercising, but I've still been maintaining my weight instead of gaining from all of the terrible foods that I have been eating this summer. I've even somehow lost another pound, which means that I have officially lost 25 pounds since I started losing weight back in April. I'm very proud of that number but it still isn't enough. I need to get back into good habits and lose some more weight, because I really want to get my health back in order.

After work yesterday I dreading going to the gym. I'm soft and lazy from not having worked out in forever, and I was exhausted after my shift on my feet at work. I got to the gym though, and hopped on the elliptical machine for twenty minutes. The first ten minutes I was on 8 resistance and did .88 of mile, which is better than I've ever done before. I think my highest ten minute distance before now has been .85. Not a huge increase, but after so long of being inactive I was surprised that not only did I do just as good as before, I did better. My second ten minute set was a cool down. I did .76 at 6 resistance.

Best of all, when I left the gym last night I felt better than ever. I look forward to going back again tonight for another run on the elliptical. Once I get back into the habit of moving, I'm going to start working on my core again as well.
